Terms of Use

These terms cover the members’ website of the Orient Heights Yacht Club, Inc., 61 Bayswater Street, East Boston, MA 02128 (“the club”), at orientheightsyachtclub.com, including its connection to QuickBooks Online. By signing in you agree to them.

Who may use it

• The members’ website is for the club’s members and the people the club gives a sign-in to, such as its officers and bar staff. It is not open to the public.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your sign-in. If you think someone else has it, change your password and tell the club.
• Use the website only for club business. Don’t try to reach information your sign-in isn’t given, or to interfere with the website.

The QuickBooks Online connection

• The connection is a private tool the club made for its own books. Only the club’s Treasurer and the website’s administrator may connect it to the club’s QuickBooks Online company, and only to that company. It is not sold or licensed to anyone else, and there is no charge for it.
• The club gives those officers the right to use it for the club’s own accounting while they hold their office. That right ends when they leave it, and the website stops giving them access when their title is moved.
• Before anything is sent, the website shows exactly what it will send, and the officer confirms it. The officer is responsible for checking that list and the account choices; the club’s books in QuickBooks remain the club’s responsibility.
• It can be disconnected at any time, from the website or from inside QuickBooks. How it handles information is in the privacy policy.
• QuickBooks Online is a product of Intuit Inc., and Stripe is a product of Stripe, Inc. Their own terms apply to the club’s use of their services. The club is not part of either company.

No warranty

The website, including the QuickBooks connection, is run by volunteers for the club and is provided as it is, without any warranty. The club works to keep it accurate and available but does not promise it will always be either. Check anything important, such as a bill or what was sent to QuickBooks, against the source.

Limits

As far as the law allows, the club and its volunteers are not liable for any loss that comes from using the website or the QuickBooks connection, or from not being able to use them.

Changes and the law

The club may change these terms; the new version is posted here with its date. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
